![]() ![]() Painterly is just my go-to when it comes to eyeshadow primers. ![]() It helps to stop my eyeshadows creasing and is one of the few products that can do that so thats an A+ in my book. I find Painterly amazing as an eyeshadow primer, it helps to keep colours true to what they are in the pan and it makes them more vibrant. I don't usually wear Painterly alone like I would with Bare Study but if I am in a rush it works wonders to help conceal and cover the veins on my eyelids. Painterly is a classic nude beige that has a matte finish. Moving on to Painterly, this cream eyeshadow in my eyes is quite a bit different to Bare Study. I myself tend to have oily eyelids so I can sometimes struggle to keep creamy products in place for a long period of time, now with Bare Study I do have apply an eyelid primer before use (Elf eyelid primer/Too Faced Shadow Insurance work a treat) to make sure that it doesn't crease on me, that would be the only downside to this product in my eyes. It reflects light beautifully and is definitely one of those products that is perfect if you are in a rush and don't want to go out with completely nothing on your eyes. I love to use it on its own, with a bit of Urban Decay’s Buck eye shadow above it in my crease area as a simple contour for a casual and natural day look.Lets start with Bare Study it is such a gorgeous golden beige champagne colour. Its sheen reflects light on the lid, making your eyes look brighter and more awake. ![]() Bare study is a beautiful pinky champagne color that illuminates the eyes. For those with more pink than yellow-toned skin, I would recommend the shade Painterly instead. It depends on what color shadow your wearing you can match the shadow to the pot and the color will look really bright or you can just get the dupe to Macs soft ochre and put any color but you still need a primer. Soft Ochre is the perfect base for any colored shadows, as it matches my yellow skin tone perfectly when blended in, thus creating a concealer/primer combo product that both evens out my skin tone and provides a great base for eye shadow. I also didn’t see the benefit of cream shadow over powder shadow – why would you apply a colored base when it would just be covered by the powders over it? However, looking back, I don’t know how I ever did makeup without these two pots. If you didn’t know already, paint pots can be used as either an eye shadow primer, layered beneath other shadows, or alone as a cream shadow.Īlthough for years I hadn’t allowed myself to purchase any, as I already an eye shadow primer: Urban Decay Primer Potion. Ever since Thanksgiving I have fallen in love with Mac Paint Pots, especially these two: Bare Study and Soft Ochre. ![]()
